DAY 1 - OKAPUKA RANCH, WINDHOEK This morning will be spent on an off-road driving course to teach you basic off-road driving techniques. In the late afternoon you may join a game drive on the property followed by a lion feeding experience (not included). (L)
DAY 2 - COMMUNAL CAMPSITE, OMAHEKE REGION The first day of touring takes you over private farmland up the steep Otjihavera Mountains, offering spectacular vistas. Rejoining a smaller gravel road on the eastern side of the mountain range, you continue into the central Sandveld of Namibia. Your campsite is arranged close to the communal farming area of Otjinene. (B,L,D)
DAY 3 - DJXOKHOE CAMP, NYAE-NYAE CONSERVANCY The route continues in the direction of the Botswana border following the dry watercourse of the Omuramba Eiseb. In the vicinity of Gam you will enter the communal and untouched area of former Bushmanland, where the San people still live in a largely traditional way. Crossing into the Nyae-Nyae conservancy, you will turn onto a far off the beaten track to the Nyae-Nyae pan where you will camp for the night. (B,L,D)
DAY 4 - SIKERETI CAMPSITE, KHAUDOM NATIONAL PARK After breakfast you will continue in a northerly direction to Tsumkwe. If time allows, you can visit a traditional bushman settlement in the vicinity. Continuing northward, you will venture onto an unmarked and hardly known track to the so called Dorsland Baobab, an enormous baobab tree already used as a campsite and meeting point by the Dorsland trekkers in the 19th century. The drive continues northwards to the Khaudom National Park, where you set up camp at Sikereti in the late afternoon. (B,L,D)
DAY 5 - WATERHOLE CAMPSITE, KHAUDOM NATIONAL PARK The entire day is spent game viewing inside Khaudom National Park far off the beaten track in extremely thick and loose sand. You will camp at Sikereti or at a waterhole. This is a true wilderness area and game roams freely - for safety reasons you will therefore have to sleep in your tent. (B,L,D)
DAY 6 - KHAUDUM CAMPSITE, KHAUDOM NATIONAL PARK After another day of game viewing in the park, you will set up camp at Khaudom Camp in the northern area of the park in the late afternoon, where you can enjoy dinner and refreshing drinks around the campfire. (B,L,D)
DAY 7 - ROY’S CAMP, RUNDU Today you will continue to Rundu, which is situated along the Kavango River. You can browse the curio markets before heading to Roy's Camp to relax for the rest of the afternoon. (B,L,D)
DAY 8 - WINDHOEK On the last day of the drive, you will return to Windhoek via Okahandja, where you can visit the large craft market before arriving in Windhoek to return your car. (B)
