Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 - WOLWEDANS DUNE CAMP, NAMIBRAND NATURE RESERVE
The tour begins at Windhoek airport at 07h00 for your morning flight to Sossusvlei in the Namib Naukluft Park. Sossusvlei is famous for its towering dunes, which are an awe-inspiring sight to behold. After landing at Sesriem you will undertake an excursion by vehicle into the dunes. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed during the day. After the trip to Sossusvlei you will fly to the Wolwedans Dune Camp (or similar alternative) in the NamibRand Nature Reserve where we stay for two nights. Enjoy an afternoon drive through the nature reserve and dinner, and then you retire for the night. (B,L,D)

Day 2 - WOLWEDANS DUNE CAMP, NAMIBRAND NATURE RESERVE
After breakfast, you will fly to Lüderitz for the day-long Elizabeth Bay safari. This offers a fascinating glimpse into the town of Lüderitz and surrounds, with highlights such as the ghost town of Kolmanskop and mining plants of the early German pioneers, the forbidden coast and seal colony at Cape Cross. The flight from Lüderitz later this afternoon passes over Spencer Bay, with its picturesque Otavi shipwreck, seals, penguins and other birdlife, with amazing views of this desolate area. You will then return to camp for dinner, to camp overnight again. (B,L,D)

Day 3 - KUIDAS CAMP IN THE HUAB RIVER VALLEY
After breakfast, you will fly from camp to Swakopmund, enjoying aerial views of the famous Eduard Bohlen shipwreck at Conception Bay. After landing and refuelling at Swakopmund, a low-level flight north will be taken along the Skeleton Coast past the seal colony at Cape Cross, for a light picnic lunch near the beach. After lunch you fly over the desert, to the Ugab formations, landing at Kuidas Camp in the Huab River Valley, where we stay for the night. A number of attractions including ancient rock engravings can be found in the area. (B,L,D)

Day 4 - PURROS CAMP, HOARUSIB VALLEY
After breakfast this morning, you will have the chance to explore the colourful red lava and yellow sandstone of the Huab River area, which boasts a wide diversity of flora and fauna including the Welwitschia Mirabilis. Lunch is taken at Kuidas Camp before a flight along the coast to Terrace Bay in the Skeleton Coast Park. Famous shipwrecks along this part of the coast are the Montrose and Henrietta. At the coast you will travel the roaring dunes on a 4x4 drive, a highly popular experience. We also visit the beach with its multi-coloured pebbles consisting of agate, lava, granite and quartz, plus old bleached whale bones scattered along the beach above the high tide mark. After this you fly to Purros Camp in the Hoarusib Valley in the Kunene Region, where you stay for the night. (B,L,D)

Day 5 - KUNENE RIVER CAMP, KUNENE
After a delicious breakfast it’s time for scenic drive along the Hoarusib Valley to visit a Himba settlement and maybe spot the elusive desert-dwelling elephant that frequent this valley. Afterwards the flight continues north along the Skeleton Coast to the Kunene River which borders Angola. Look out for the Kaiu Maru shipwreck and pieces from old sailing vessels that lie scattered along this part of the coast. On landing you will enjoy a scenic drive to a popular lunch site. The drive then continues through the mountains and dunes of the Hartmann Valley, reaching Kunene River camp in the late afternoon to overnight. (B,L,D)

Day 6 - WINDHOEK
On your final day of the tour, you will enjoy breakfast followed by an early morning boat trip on the Kunene River as it flows through scenic desert landscape, spotting bird life and possibly a few crocodiles. After lunch at camp, it is time to fly back to Eros Airport in Windhoek, arriving in the late afternoon. (B,L)
