Ninety seven years ago love was the inspiration for the magnificent Castle Heinitzberg. Count von Schwerin commissioned the masterwork for his fiancé Magarethe von Heinitz in 1914 and elegance was unquestionably achieved. His vision to combine comfort with affectionate charm has been well preserved in the now Heinitzburg Hotel. The Raith family name has long been associated with tradition of excellence in hospitality and exquisite cuisine. The Heinitzburg today offers 16 spacious generously appointed en-suite rooms, each individually decorated, leaving no two rooms looking the same!
Each room has an individual air-conditioning / heating unit, direct telephone line, electronic safe, mini bar and flat screen TV with Satellite channels. The “Superior” Deluxe rooms have a bath with integrated showers, whilst the deluxe rooms all have a walk in shower. At the serene garden guests are welcome to relax in a private setting whilst enjoying the refreshing swimming pool (which is heated in winter) and a meeting room for your convenience is available on request.
The Gourmet Restaurant overlooks the Capital city and diverse mouth-watering cuisine is served; ranging from local to international á la Carte, a true celebration of the senses. Along with a superb view over the city and the surrounding mountains, meals, coffee and cakes from the patisserie are served throughout the day. Snacks and sundowner cocktails are also served on this with a view of impressive vistas of spectacular sunsets. The pride of the castle the - Wine Cellar – bears the largest collection of carefully selected South African vintages in Namibia; the cellar is built into the mountain rock and is the ideal meeting place for smaller groups. This exclusive venue is situated in the original castle and features authentic historical artwork.
