Situated in a quiet part of town, Hilltop House, as the name suggests, is set atop a hill which offers a powerful view of Windhoek, just 5 minutes drive away. Hilltop House is a Bavarian style house, originally built in 1958 as an art studio, with an Oregon pine deck extending round the upper floor. The House was converted to a guest house in 1999. It boasts facilities you would expect to find at a larger hotel but at the same time manages to stay true to providing a personal and welcoming service.
Mornings come along with a delivery to your room of a delicious breakfast tray and a local newspaper, if you would prefer, you can enjoy breakfast outside on the Oregon pine deck or by the sparkling pool. Lunches and dinners can also be prepared on request and many restaurants are located close to the house providing a variety of cuisine. Although there is no communal lounge, guests frequently congregate on the deck around the pool; an ideal spot to enjoy the picturesque Namibian sunset, over the Klein Windhoek valley. This simple and quaint boutique hotel is one of the favourite tourist establishments in Windhoek, and is an excellent place to chill out and take it easy!
The accommodation at Hilltop House includes 7 luxurious rooms which are beautifully decorated in a colonial style. They all have large en-suite bathrooms with environmentally friendly toiletries. The rooms have air conditioning, offering relief from the Namibian heat, a mini-bar, and 3 channel TV. A pine deck extends around the upper floor, giving many of the rooms an outside balcony. The larger honeymoon suite would be more suitable for families. All rooms also have hairdryers, mini-bars, ceiling fans, tea-and-coffee making facilities, satellite TV and telephones.
This is a quaint guest house offering old-world charm and friendly, personalized service in a relaxed and peaceful setting. Hilltop House is also a great place to stay for travellers and safari-goers spending a night or two in Windhoek before or after their journey in Namibia.
