You will be collected from your accommodation in Swakopmund at 09:30 in the morning, to be taken to the Namib Desert where you can choose between the following sandboarding options:
Option 1 – LIE DOWN SANDBOARDING
If you wish to choose the lying down style, you will use a specially polished board to slide headfirst down a dune on your back. Speeds of up to 80km/h can be reached with this option.
Option 2 – STAND-UP SANDBOARDING
Those that choose the stand-up options will use standard snowboarding equipment that will allow you to 'surf' your way down the dunes. It is advisable to have some snowboarding or surfing experience to get the most of the experience, but it isn't a pre-requisite. Two different slopes are on offer with various runs on either.
