Awake to the hum of the sea, unwind in the calm, tranquillity and comfort of your own space, stirring only occasionally to spot passing birds or to wonder at the beauty of the natural surroundings, then allow the sea to lull you to sleep again at the end of the day… what more could one ask for? Well if you manage to tear yourself away from you own little piece of heaven, there is plenty to see and do just a few minutes away, in and around Swakopmund or further afield in neighbouring Walvis Bay.
You enter the Stiltz as if through a secret door to a well-guarded kingdom of sea, wind and surrounding dunes, and yet it is just a few minutes’ walk to the centre of town. Built far above the ground up on stilts on the edge of the dry Swakop River's bed, the wooden, thatched chalets are linked together by walkways. If possible, ask for a chalet facing the sea. The architect, Danie Holloway - is clearly partial to elevated structures having built The Raft at Walvis Bay. The Tug at Swakopmund and Erongo Wilderness Lodge - has created something magical here. At night, you are lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves and in the morning you wake to study the wild tamarisk bushes as pink flamingos fly overhead. All the chalets are big and bright and are colourfully and tastefully decorated. Wood, sometimes collected from the riverbed, has been used throughout, from the light twisted wood of the sofas to the large double bed. The bathrooms are made from rosewood, glass, stainless steel and coloured ceramic tiles and you have a wonderful shower with a large showerhead. Breakfast, served in the honeycombe, polygonal structure of wood and glass are excellent. The new big luxury Villa is extremely good-looking with an unbelievable view onto the sea.
The accommodation at The Stiltz includes five Bungalows with double beds which sleep two people and three Bungalows with twin beds which also sleep two people. All Bungalows comprise of en-suite bathroom with spacious showers, mini-bar, coffee/tea station. There is also one Family Unit which sleeps four people and two spacious villa which sleeps six. (Only Family Unit and Villa can accommodate children)
The Stiltz Villa is an outstandingly luxurious piece of architecture in its own right. Accommodating up to six people in ultimate style and luxury, the Villa stands apart from the other Stiltz bungalows, offering privacy and magnificent views along the Swakop riverbed, across the lagoon and out into the Atlantic Ocean. At the same time, it blends in seamlessly with the rest of the complex.

The Stiltz serves a fantastic, substantial buffet breakfast and you can see the chefs cooking away in the kitchen. There are some fantastic restaurants and cafes you can head to for lunch and dinner, Swakopmund’s renowned restaurant, The Tug, is nearby and definitely worth a visit!

Swakopmund is well connected by excellent roads to the north, east
and south.
From any Direction:
Follow the road signs to Swakopmund.
Make your way towards the town centre.
Take any road towards the sea (to the west).
At the sea front, turn left along Strand South.
Continue south and follow the road as it veers to the left, inland.
The Stiltz will be seen on the right hand side of the road.
