Namibia is an all round destination, but it’s not advisable to travel during the rainy season for visitors determined to view wildlife. Namibia is mostly hot and dry. The country receives nearly all of its rainfall during the summer months between October and March.
The summer season in Namibia is the rainy season, from October-April. Birding is recommended for this season. The winter season in Namibia is from May-September. Game viewing is recommended during the winter season.
The daytime temperatures in Namibia are usually very hot, peaking at over 40°C in the summer. As is typical of a desert to semi-desert region, hot daytime temperatures are often coupled with very chilly nights.
What to pack
You need a strong rucksack that can hold lots of water. Duffel bag is recommended.
Good walking boots. You need socks and bandages for the before and after arrival of blisters.
Light safari cloths are recommended for better camouflage.
Warm cloths for the nights, especially if visit during the winter seasons.
Wet wipes. There is not much water here to wash your hands.
WATER , you need to have at least 2 liters on you at all times and at least 10 liters in a car. Buy water as soon as you arrive. You will drink it.
Checklist- First-aid kit containing, amongst others, insect repellent, possibly a malaria prophylaxis, bandages, diarrhea medication and painkillers; sufficient supplies of your regular medicines
- Sunglasses, sun protection and a hat (year-round sunshine)
- Moisturizing lotion and lip balm

- Battery-operated or conventional razors (if visiting remote areas)

- Telephone list with all the emergency numbers, including the numbers of family and friends back home
