5 Day Desert Experience Trail

Day 1 - DIE DUINE HOUSE, HIKING, CAMP OVERNIGHT
You will be collected at about 08:00 in Windhoek. The first stop on this tour is at Die Duine House at NamibRand Nature Reserve, where you will arrive in the afternoon. You then begin your 2-3 hours walk through red dune landscapes in the afternoon, before reaching the first camp. (L,D)
Day 2 - KUDU GORGE, SCHAFSBERG, CAMP OVERNIGHT
This morning after breakfast, you begin the hike to Kudu Gorge on the Schafsberg to enjoy spectacular views. You will then climb back down for lunch. After lunch the hike continues until reaching the foot of the Weaver Mountain, where the second camp is located. You will enjoy another sunset before having dinner and sleeping under the stars. (FB)
Day 3 - GORRASIS MOUNTAIN, CAMP OVERNIGHT
Today after breakfast the hike begins to Gorrasis Mountain. At the foot of the mountain you will be able to fill up your water reserves, as there is no water available at the camp. You will climb up a 100m gorge to reach camp just in time for lunch. In the afternoon you have time to explore or relax. Walking time: 3 - 4 hours. (FB)
Day 4 - HORSESHOE WILDERNESS AREA, CAMP OVERNIGHT
This morning you will have an early breakfast before preparing for the longest walking day of the trail. Close to the summit you will leave your back packs behind and climb the top equipped only with water and camera. You will have lunch up here, enjoying the views. The descent requires absolute concentration and agility, as it is steep, covered with loose gravel and granite boulders. At the bottom there is another two hour walk across the dunes before reaching camp. The camp is very rustic, with bucket showers and long drop toilets. Walking time: 6 - 7 hours. (FB)
Day 5 - WINDHOEK
After breakfast today you can enjoy a walk across the dunes, before it is time to depart back to Windhoek, ending your adventure. (B,L)
