Fishing Safaris
The summer months in Namibia are considered the best time for fishing. Species commonly caught along the Namibian coast include; Kabeljou (silver kob), steenbras, catfish, copper shark, spotted gully shark, galjoen, blacktail and barbel.
Many Namibia fishing safaris allow you to fish for shark, but this is always done on a tag and release basis.
Possible fishing tours are day fishing tours or longer fishing safaris.
Fishing safaris include all transport, bait and fishing gear. Meals & drinks are also often included while you are out fishing.


Day Fishing Tours
The day at sea begins from either the Swakopmund Mole or Walvis Bay harbours. Fishing takes place from around 10km to 120km offshore. Snoek and yellowtail are the only game fish species obtainable in Namibian waters.
Fishing safaris begin early at about ± 07:45 – 08:15. Safaris are generally scheduled to return to either Swakopmund or Walvis Bay harbours around 13h00 with onward transport to your accommodation.
Guests also have the option of combining a boat fishing trip with dinner on the beach afterwards. After the fishing activities have been completed, you will return to your accommodation and freshen up. Dinner is served on the beach ± 19h00. A decadent and romantic seafood dinner awaits you. Dinner includes; Fresh oysters,Ccatch of the day either Char-grilled or baked, calamari stir-fry with peppers, garlic and herbs, fresh vegetables and spicy rice.
Shore fishing options at selected fishing sites along the are also available.
Longer Fishing Tours
Guests have the option of 6 and 4 day fishing safaris. The Atlantic angling safari is a 6 day fishing trip on the coast of Namibia. The Namibia Fishing Safari is a 3 day fishing trip on the coast of Namibia, south of the Atlantic coastal town of Swakopmund. All fishing safari itineraries can be customized to suit or fishing needs and desires.
